In brief

The initiative for establishing Fintorus Oy came from the Russian cluster of Sitra´s Food and Nutrition Programme ERA. The aim of the ERA programme is to improve the international competitive edge of the food industry. The established company will improve export possibilities of small and medium-sized companies.

The export of small food consignments from Finland to Russia is expensive and difficult, which particularly impacts fresh and other special products. Fintorus improves this situation by assembling its partners´export consignments in the Valio terminal located in Lappeenranta, from which Fintorus is renting terminal space and buying terminal services. At the export terminal the products are arranged in loads according to the customer. The smallest unit handled is a bulk package. Combining the consignments into a full load and centralising export and import activities within one company make it possible to profit from even small deliveries to Russia.

Fintorus has established a daughter company OOO Finprod in St.Petersburg for import and sales. This enables the transfer of fresh and special products to the shops in St.Petersburg, and later in Moscow. Moreover, larger food companies also benefit from a model where export and import routines have been centralized in one organisation.

The newly incorporated in Fintorus Well Foods Finland Oy company has been successfully operating on Russian food market for more than 15 years. The main field of company's activity is import to Russian Federation of Frozen Meat from leading companies-producers in Scandinavia, Europe, the USA, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. The company has the head office in Helsinki as well as own trade representative office in St.-Petersburg. Such location and cooperation allows to reach a high level of velocity and reliability. Well Foods Finland Oy is importing to Russian Federation all kind of Frozen Meat parts and subproducts for retail and processing needs.
